¡CARNAVAL SANTA FE! is
a collaborative project of the Museum of International Folk Art,
the City of Santa Fe Convention
and Visitor’s Bureau, the state of New Mexico Department of
Tourism and the independent ¡CARNAVAL SANTA FE! committee.
¡CARNAVAL SANTA FE! highlights educational
and entertainment opportunities for New Mexico residents and visitors
and encourages travel to Santa Fe and mostly it's just about having
fun!
In addition to sponsoring special events first during the 2004/2005
Carnival season (11/11/04 through Mardi Gras 2/8/2005) and annually
therafter, ¡CARNAVAL SANTA FE! will feature special Carnival-related
activities throughout the community from May to August in summer
2005
Anyone and everyone is invited to don some beads, a mask or a costume
- join up with one of our open, fun-loving Masquerade Brigades listed
on our website or just come as you are!
We encourage local residents to dress up in costume and come out
and play! You can join a Masquerade
Brigade or
just show up to any Santa Fe social event - Carnaval related or
otherwise! We also encourage
the participation, support and "Carnaval Friendly
Venue" sign postings
in the windows of local establishments. See some Carnaval
Friendly Venues on our ever-growing partners page
or become a Carnaval Friendly Venue yourself
easily just by contacting us or
posting your special in our forums.
¡Carnaval Santa
Fe!- It's Time To Play! originated with the Museum
of International Folk Art's ¡CARNAVAL!
